goodbye, so-long, farewell.....

Hey, let's head for the hills and check out the living conditions of the miners along Bonanza Creek.

The sun was blistering hot when we arrived. It was a pleasant feeling to dip into the frigid water. Scooping far enough beneath the surface proved quite the challenge, but with persistence I prevailed.

We neglected to bring a shovel or trowel. What kind of miners are we anyway? As we soon discovered it doesn't take much skill to find the riches from the earth. Luck was on our side!

This dandy surfaced after a few hours of hard labor. I sure hope we aren't infringing on anybodies mineral claims....let's get the heck outa here.....PRONTO! Good-bye!

The quickest way out of town is over the river. The crossing is 7 minutes long....following the current. We hope that it is a calm river day and there is enough room for our horses and buggy. I don't want to think of whether we might be heavy enough to sink the minuscule ferry. If it is our last ride...so-long!

Oh please tell me that only one RV can aboard for the crossing......with two it may sink like the Titanic!

We will be daring to cross on Beans 13th birthday tomorrow, hence an early celebration.  I've still uncertain knowledge whether I am superstitious or not.....are you?

  3. Thanks for the Birthday wishes Sheila! It was quite uneventful for her, she slept the entire way over a challenging pass to drive. I'm as grey-haired as she is now!
